Our history

IWMB is constituted under Section 4 of the Islamabad Wildlife (Protection, Preservation, Conservation, and Management) Ordinance 1979, empowering it to enforce and regulate wildlife conservation efforts within the region. Our authority derives from this legislation, enabling us to address the unique challenges facing the national park and its inhabitants.Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) – the dedicated force behind the protection and conservation of Margallah Hills National Park’s wildlife, flora, and fauna. Established with a profound commitment to preserving our natural heritage, IWMB works tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of this ecological haven Together, let’s celebrate and safeguard this natural treasure, ensuring its magnificence endures for all to experience and cherish.
